Help fix my t2i pleasee. +k

ihave a canon t2i and its been working perfectly so far. recently when i took a picture or would start to record a video, the display would either turn black or create a crazy and trippy pattern of color. the red led light at the bottom right of my camera will continue to stay on and wont turn off until 3 seconds after i open the battery compartment. i have a 3 year warranty, but i dont want to use it on something that i feel can be fixed with as much as a simple download. thanks ns for anyone that helps

do the obvious web checks (prob already have) and if nothing comes up, send it in for sure
