The Rossignol bindings jig that they released last season ('10-'11) is not centered! Every ski that was mounted with a 10-11 rossignol jig, ie. look, rossi, dynastar bindings, will be 3mm off set on the ski. The bindings sit off center to the left. Rossignol chose to do nothing about this issue. There are still jigs out there being used to drill skis that are off set!!! The only shops that got their jigs replaced were those who noticed that it was wrong.

ANY customer who had thier skis mis-drilled because of this is owed a new pair of skis from Rossignol. Please check your skis if you think that this may have happened to you. I don't think it is right that Rossignol tried to sweep this under the rug. Contact your local shop immediately.

It pisses me off that a company would be such a pansy and not own up to their mistake. Don't let them get away with it...

i have 2012's mounted with rossi's big orange binding, i'm 90% sure mine is true center, probably not the jig they used

It was the px/ axial 2 jig, we sent ours back about a month ago. The fks/ pivot one is good. The new one is supposed to be a px/ pivot wide jig. Fuckin bs Rossi

3 millimeters is about the average standard error for most shop techs. 3mm will effect the ski little performance wise, its so small you'd hardly notice it.

The heel is 3mm left and the toe is 3mm off to the right. 6mm total

So would this make the distance between toe and heel 6mm further apart than it should be? ie an FKS was mounted for a 317 BSL it would effectively be mounted for a 323 BSl, and to mount it at 317 you would have to go to 311 on the jig?

No, will be mounted to correct bsl just not pointed perfectly strahight.

CHECK YOUR BINDINGS IF YOU HAVE THE PX 12,14,15,or 18, or any Rossi look counterparts. Many shops did not know about this and a lot still don't. THE FATTER THE SKI THE BIGGEST DISCRENSY, which means you might notice it in your t halls or 2012s without measuring with calipers, but you could almost tell by looking at a 105 + waisted ski.

holy shit i just measured out my t-hall and theres like 2-3 mm difference. so do i email rossi about this or? do i go to my shop and see what they say or should i just let it slide?

Did you notice a problem before this thread? No. So why go through a huge hassle and deal with having to possibly go without skis for a few days (or even weeks depending on how they plan on fixing the problem.


While it's pretty bad that Rossi had this issue (and didn't do anything about it), unless you're racing with these skis (which I would TOTALLY bitch about...cause race skis are expensive as shit and having the bindings be that much off could actually cause a problem) I wouldn't worry about it honestly, it's not going to throw off your park skis that much (like I said above, if you hadn't read this post, you wouldn't have even known there was a problem). While I'm sure there is a resolution to this, it most likely will take a ton of time...or it'll be to drill new holes in your existing skis, which would change the mounting point as well.

nope didnt notice, thats why i asked (notice nicely) if i should let it slide. so iguess i will but it just sucks that they let it go for so long. Also 3mm could have some impact on relese of the binding,

All boots get checked in the binding after a mount, if it was off the binding would require less force to torque the boot out and the tech would adjust the binding until it released properly. There is some slop in regular mounts anyways, I could imagine many techs not noticing a trend.

Its up to you. Its Rossi's fault, why should you have to suffer their mistake? Our shop has contacted rossi and they are handling this bullshit on a case by case basis. BULLSHIT. Multiple customers at our shop have gotten brand new skis from rossi. If you want to deal with contacting your local shop and/or rossignol you may get a brand new pair of skis. If its not worth it to you, then don't worry about it. I just thought customers should know the shit rossi is trying to pull here...

I believe we sent the skis back to rossignol and they mailed us their equivalent to the customer's that was mis-drilled. I would imagine your local shop would handle it the same

And that is why I won't deal with it. I haven't noticed it before, and im not trading in my caylors and recoils for rossi's. Maybe my urban skis though...

That's a jig, it's what Ski Tech's use to drill the correct holes with the correct spacing into your skis. Each binding company has a different jig.
