Wake Ski

So who in NS community is rocking the Wake Ski's? There is a wake place right by me so I am thinking of getting a pair!

I feel like it would be really hard to pop off the wake, and would be really hard on the knees....

IMO wakeskates are the funnest behind the boat thing.

I've seen pics of guys do mute grabs etc. still wake boarding just works better imo

I do wakeboard a bit and it is fun but this just looks interesting! Plus I live 5 minutes away from a dope wake place! With a bunch of cables and kickers!

what did you use for bindings? are the skis just made of wood? I want to make a pair for this summer. my plan is to use a baltic birch core and high density foam then fiberglass wrap with epoxy. I also have some 4 inch temporary water main pipe about 15 feet long that I plan on making a rainbow rail out of in front of my parents cabin, just sledge hammer in son fence posts, trim to length and lag bolt the pipe to the posts and screw in some cross supports on the posts

BUMP. Im looking to get a pair but I still have no clue what I should be looming for sizewize or binding/boot. Ive heard from many people vouch for stereo skis. But I still have no clue what Im looking for though. Ive also heard HO makes reputable wake skis. I use other HO marine products too.

I've had a pair for a few years now. I ride HOs. A couple dudes on my water ski team ride stereos.

Stereo wake skis are great if you're a bigger dude. they are a little larger than the HOs. Plus, they aren't a continuous tip to tail rocker - they are flat underfoot which makes them a little more stable feeling. CONS - they're bigger, so it's more ski to throw around. Since they are flat underfoot they are a little harder to initiate spins/surface turns on.

HOs - a little smaller than stereos, so a little more ideal if you don't weigh 200 lbs. continuous tip to tail rocker which makes them super nimble. CONS - if you aren't a strong water skier they're super squirrly.

I'm 5'10", 160 pounds. Would I be looking at 144s? By bigger do you mean wider? Or longer. Because the HO's sound more appealing right now. What about bindings? Do they really matter or could I get a cheapy pair??

yep, we're the same size. and by bigger I mean longer. personally, I like the HOs more than the stereos after having ridden both. My 230 lb friend is the opposite.

for binding - i just have HO high wrap slalom bindings. I think they were $100 bucks for the pair. i wouldn't waste my money on their $300 "wake ski" binding. any HO slalom binding should fit their skis.
