What is everyone's policy on being honest?

Is it important to you to be honest to people at all times or do you not really care about telling lies to save yourself/get what you want?

Is it a better decision to lie sometimes and what do you take into account to make that decision?

this is actually what prompted me to make the thread. did something last night I should probably tell my lady about but don't really want to tell her it happened. really torn at this point.

Honest, but there's a difference between omitting certain facts and lying. Like I would tell my mom I was just going to chill with buddies, not going to get shitfaced.
And in certain special cases lying is really the only way to not get fucked hard

I'm pretty honest about most stuff which can be bad sometimes...people get angry about it occasionally but I couldn't give less of a fuck.

I am only brutally honest when i couldnt care less about the outcome of the situation. otherwise you gotta play the game and try and stack the cards to your advantage...which a lot of the time means you being honest...or at the very least not lying.

i'm always honest, but that doesn't mean that i always say what's on my mind. being honest and being a total dick are two completely different things, and people need to stop calling themselves one when they mean the other.
