since its part way through the season and some of you guys have had the chance to try these gogs out, what do you think of them. are they really as good as they are hyped up to be? I am looking at ether those or splices helpfull answers get +k
I own Splices, and I've tried on the Airbrakes a few times in my local ski shop and the Oakley store at the mall. Honestly, if I had 200+ bucks to burn, I'd pick up a pair of Airbrakes. They fit my face great, and seemed to have a good field of vision, plus they look sick as hell. I'm a fan. If only they were cheaper. They are like an upgraded Splice, IMO. I already have 2 lenses for my Splices so I can't really justify the purchase at the moment. Really stoked for the new Oakley goggle coming out next year though that are supposed to be like EG2s. Canopy maybe?
I've been rockin airbrakes since dec and they're the best goggle I've ever owned. Wasn't sure how often I'd actually swap out the lenses but that function is a godsent. I've got the vr28 black iridiums and they work so well that there've been a few instances where I've rocked those instead of sunglasses while not skiing. ie: resorty stuff without skis on. Pics, etc. Anyway, the only drawback I've experienced is that sometimes when your in the lift line or standing still, your breath can semi fog the outer lens. Honestly though I've had other goggles do the same thing too. I'm just comparing em to my splices which didn't. That said though the peripheral is way better than the splices and I get a ton of comments on the goggles. Just a few days ago a 40somethin random couple told me I looked like I was pulled right out of a catalogue. Haha. They're good though. Def recommend em.
Sick goggle. Like anything Oakley does they are really well thought out and executed. I have Hi yellow, VR50 pink, and dark grey. I previously wore I/O's but always felt like they were too drafty on storm days at Hood.
