Everyone knows the feeling. You see a photo and it immediately gives you a strong feeling or emotion that isn't usually felt. A good, strong, sometimes even nostalgic feeling. Post photos that do so for you. For me:

For me ski photography and action sports photography in general, I personally think its less about capturing that one trick or that line, and more about capturing the emotion. I want the viewer, when they look at my photos, to feel the same fun/energy/adrenaline-rush that the skier in the photo is having.


Jordan Loyd is one of my favourite ski/lifestyle photographers.

Agreed! I love when the emotion overpowers the actual trick. Another great photographer who does is is Rocky Maloney.

Alright so basically any photo that's been posted in this thread has gotten to me. I love them all. Haha. My favorite styles so far have to be the under exposed back with strobe and skateboarder, and GSPhotography's shot. They're both stunning.

absolutely love this photo, the way it's composed, the depth of field and the way the skier is staring right into the camera as if he's saying "oh check me out sliding this rail

I really don't get that photo. Sure it's on untracked pow and he's straight lining a run, but (in my opinion) it just seems so pointless...

Not all ski photos are supposed to show crazy tricks. This is just a nice photograph in general. It has a minimalistic, stark quality that I often find quite pleasing.

That photo of Henrik has always been a favorite of mine. I love how subtle his flash is. I hate it when photos make them obvious.

Yeah, that pic is so perfect. Beautiful lighting and colors.

In that last pic of Abma, it almost seems like he's been lit out by a strobe, but that would be very unlikely wouldn't it be? Or was it masked and did he bump the exposure a little. I don't know why I'm asking, but it doesn't look like just natural lighting.

Just wanted to say that the cover photos lately have been killer! Today's one with the Police car and the skier hitting the rail is wicked sick. Great lighting too.
