Skis: Majesty Dirty Bear 175
Bindings: Marker Griffon
Background: I am an agressive skier. I like to ski mostly big mountain, glades, chutes, anything off the beaten track really. I enjoy cliffs when available.
The best overall ski I have ridden. I would recommend them for all mountain and some big mountain shredding, I cant think of anything better. Majesty has truly created a masterpiece with this one. They can slice through any backcountry snow you find and still tear it up on the groomers.
Performance
The Dirty Bears were outstanding. Anything I could throw at them they were able to charge through. I took them off through some chutes and some rocky gnar spots and they could not have performed better than they did. Then riding back on the groomers they carved it up very well. They felt solid all around, no shaky nonsense.
Design
Not only do Majestys have the sickest graphics out there, but they also feel so solid. There is no early rise/rocker in these skis but they still wrecked the mountain. This also made on piste skiing better than it would have been. The lack of rocker really had no major affect in the big mountain pack I was skiing but it will decrease your float in the powder. There skis are, however, made for more big mountain riding so it a well worth compromise.
Value
Extremely good value. They are a bit more expensive than others but they are worth it, trust me. Haven't felt a ski as solid as this in a while. If they are too expensive, my code JW2012 will get you 25% off of any of their products. If you are at all considering them then trust me, they are well worth the price.
Fit
For me the skis fit perfectly. For anyone like me I would get the 175. Perfect choice.
Characteristics
The Majesty Dirty Bears have a flex rating of 6/10. This works very well for the typ of ski. Up on the mountain charging chutes they are amazing but once you hit the groomers the stiffer flex lets you rip it up. Once again the lack of rocker comes into question here but all considered, it was a well worth compromise.
Durability
Due to a general lack of snow, there were some hidden rocks out where I was. Through everything I put them through they held up perfectly. No damage whatsoever even though they were put through a lot. Despite being bounced, banged, and worked, they are in fantastic condition. Ill let you know at the end of the season how they are.
