I hate the election this year. No one is offering the right solutions. Newt is smart but he's a debater not a leader, Obama is going to partially socialize medicine. This kills competition which is already happening. I hate where our country is going with everything.
We had a recession in 1920s or '30s that coolidge and harding dealt with perfectly and it was over (cut spending and brought taxation down to like 10% for the average american).
Then the fed allowed investment on credit and when a slight economic downturn came they called in the loans and STRANGLED the economy. This made the great depression. Then FDR decided to replace the free job market with government control. If he wasn't as good as he was this would've ruined the country. and it took WW2 to turn this thing around.
But now we give out foreign charity by the billions and tax the F*** out of everybody (like 16% for a minimum wage job!!).The founding fathers specifically wrote that people should be taxed by what they spend and not what they make. (federalist paper rationalizing the ease with which congress could levy taxes. yes this would make a wealth gap we could just only start taxation after you spend X amount of dolars so rich people still pay more)
We blow so much money defending our oil venders because the soviets invaded Afghanistan way back in the day and showed us that we had a real weak spot. Instead of allowing more inhouse drilling/investing in new energies (this would've happened, but the government decided to protect external oil, instead of allowing the free market to create demand for more stable energy source ie nuclear or something)
Now we need to police the world because everywhere we buy oil from is unstable as F***
and people have become used to not having to be responsible for their actions (stupid lawsuits) and protectionism can't keep up with the minimum wage.(not that it's trying to) It all just sucks that no one actually knows what to do
