2 pairs of broken super 7s

So since that start of the season i have broken two pairs of rossignol super s7!! What has been happening is right where the heel piece bolts-on the titanium sheet rips off the wood and leaves a 1 foot delamed spot under foot! The first time i did it i thought that it was a fluke seeing how i cant find any other stories like mine! But just the other day i was skiing and i hit a compression hard and heard a pop type noise! when i took my ski off and examined it sure enough the binding and titanium seet had came off the ski and the binding was floating! I believe running fks bindings on this ski is what is doing it, the screw holes are very close together causing a weak point! They where professionally mounted with the wright drill bit! But warranty has been quite good with sending me new pairs both times! (hopefully have some 2013s in the mail soon!)

So has anyone eles had this problem? the new nick name for these is the super shit7!

cool story, you obviously need some griffons on those bad boys with their wide mounting pattern

that sucks though hopefully new pair last longer

HA!

The Marker Royal Family bindings had to be changed for 12/13 because the hole pattern was so narrow everyone in the industry had pull out issues...

Get a set of Tyrolia Peaks, they have the widest mounting pattern of any on the market.

When I used to ride FKS on fat skis I had similar issues. Not snapping the ski, but they would just ALWAYS rip out, even with heli-coils. I kind of believe that because of the narrow mount pattern of FKS there's a crazy amount of torque that occurs when you carve on a fat ski with them. This is just my hypothesis, which is kind od nullified because I know many people who have always rocked FKS on their fatties without a problem.

anyone else remember the season leading up to the launch of the royal family line? marker was saying they had the widest pattern of any binding, even though salomon's driver series has always been bigger

Stop buying ski's that are toys. There is nothing "super" about the super 7. Flimsy noodle.

I actually saw this exact thing the other day but on a scratch not an s7. The ski had snapped clean right behind the FKS heel.

The duke and jester were realeased in the 06/07 season, I think. I would stick with peaks or STH's binding wise.

Agreed on the Peaks though, used Deadbolt 18s and really liked how solid they felt.

but yeah it was pretty funny to see marker hyping the new pattern ALL over their new 12-13 catalog

the shop is probably drilling with a 4.1mm which is larger than the standard 3.6mm bit because they have the titanium in them, so what happens is all the pressure is placed on the titanium layer and there's not much bite into the core of the ski.

What I would suggest you do is mount the new pair with a 3.6mm bit then counter sink the holes ever so slightly. When I say slight, I mean, just enough to take the sharp edge off the hole. Mount up with some epoxy in the screw holes and it shouldn't give you any issues.

Ya i would like to post some pictures but i have already sent them out on warranty! But has anyone seen this on the s7? it seems strange that i broke 2 pairs in 2 months!
