Fulltilt shell sizing question, answere = 10/10

so i just received fulltilts i ordered online. i ordered a 29, and as i unwrapped them there was a price tag and a tag on the front of the boot (placed there by the shop) with the 29.0 label.
but as i looked at the bottom of the boot, it said 29.5 in the plastic shell.

now i am aware that the 29 and 29.5 have the same shell size, but shouldnt then just the bsl reading of 326mm be the same but on the bottom since the thicker liner is inside, not say 29.0?

hence if id sell them, the buyer would have no possibility in knowing wether its a 29 or a 29.5.

did the shop screw up with the labelling? they do feel a tad big, unlike my friends 29s i tried the other day. any insight= 10/10

Companies don't print liner sizes on the shell.. they print shell sizes on the shell. (My Nordicas say 26/26.5 on the shell) You're probably fine, have you taken the liner out and checked if it has a printed size on it?

the size is also printed on the liner, pull them out and see if they are the .5 size

All the full tilt shells come in .5 sizes. There is no such thing as a 29 shell, the only difference between a size 29 and a size 29.5 is the thickness of the liner.

Also, if they feel a tad big, you should consider sizing down to 28.5

i tried 28,5 and they felt really small, and coming from a 325mm shell 28.5 ace of spades id have to redrill all skis. is there any other option to make them fit smaller? insoles? they feel a tad smaller than my ace of spades after one season riding. i touch the front when im standing upright. but theyre probably gonna pack out....

Did you get them heat molded by your shop? Intuitions arent the most comfortable liner until they are molded.

no did not yet get them molded. i didnt think the difference would be so great. i will def. heat mold now

i came from a 27 in a ghost to a 27.5 in a first chair.

they say that once you heat mold the intuition liner it fits completely different and you won't have any issues with packing out, but i do wish that i would have gotten the 26.5 in the first chair. i personally feel as though they do pack out a bit

i did my research. i read that heat molding just speeds up the time it takes fr liners to fit to the foot.

that's true for most cut-and-sew liners, but not for intuition liners. they're made of much denser foam than most, and therefore really do need to be molded to get the most out of them. sure, you can ride in them without molding them, but they'll feel much better and you'll get much better heel hold out of them if molded PROPERLY. it's not as easy of a task as just throwing them in the over, cooking them, then putting them back in your boots and buckling up and flexing around. a competent boot fitter will be able to look at your foot and know where to tape some foam to your foot, add space in the toebox, around your ankle, etc.
