money/wallet, bandanna/balaclava, music (if you listen to it) I usually take some miscellaneous tooling in my backpack wherever I go, pocket knife, hockey tape roll, and tywraps can be very useful if shits breaking down and a ghetto repair needs to be made on anything (skis bindings, coat, backpack, a buddy) a spare layer of clothing, spare mitt liners/spare handwear, silica gel packets (what I use to dry boots on the road, you get big ones with TV's and shit, they're pretty effective, and dry out real quick themselves) cellular communication device, keys to your vehicle if you drive, deffinatley something to eat if its a long road trip, sunglasses....................
then there is the obvious, skis, boots, bindings (if you remember your skis and forget these, jump of a bridge) coat, pants, gloves, headwear, goggles, socks, baselayer, poles.
I could go on forever, but these are basically the essentials, ironically I probably forgot something in that list.
