Making Jacket Taller?

I have been given a Large Oakley jacket that has a nice baggy fit, but a very short length. I was thinking has anyone made their jacket longer by sowing similar material onto the bottom or would it just be easier to sell?

Sell it and buy something new. IMO, trying to lengthen a jacket by sewing extra fabric to the bottom will never turn out as well as planned, and will more than likely end up making the jacket look awkward or ruin it.
