Telescoping Monopods for GoPro

I'm looking at getting a telescoping monopod to use with my GoPro so i don't need to worry about carrying another long pole with me when I am skiing. What have anybody's experiences been with a telescoping monopod? I'm a little worried about it not being able to hold the gopro's weight.
I'm not sure if I'm overestimating the weight of the gopro on the monopod or not.....but who has tried this, and did it work well? the monopod i'm looking at extends to 37".

wouldn't you still need to be carrying "a long pole" with you if you got a monopod? Just use an old ski pole. much less likely to break and much cheaper if not free

I would just use a ski pole. You can get an adjustable pole for $40 that will also be a good pair for back country.
