Help me find a 3rd ski

I have Bents for pow, and Switchblades for park, but on days at big mountains when there's maybe 15% fresh snow, I am torn, because with the Bents being so soft, cutting crud is fatiguing, and I would rather ski the mountain then the park. I am 6'1", 185lbs, DIN 10-11, and 90% forwards, 10% switch.

I want something stiffer, but rockered tip and tail, and 100-110 underfoot. Something I can mount at -2 or -3 and still pin it through the crustiest of snow, and smear a turn in pow.

I was thinking Bacons, but they might be a bit soft for what I'm looking for.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Atomic Blog, so that may be an option to check out. However, it may be wider than you would like.

I demo'd them and liked them, but yeah. If I was selling the Bents, that would be an option, but I want something a little more hard snow centric. I was feeling the Blizzard Cochise, even though it's a flat tail

This.  My 3.Zeros fit nicely as a third ski between 4frnt Turbos and Elan Boomerangs.

sounds like ON3P jeffreys. Got them this year for exactly what you described and they handle just how I want them to. Definitely a lot stiffer than the bacons but with the rocker they don't come across as too stiff. Bamboo core makes them super responsive and they can definitely hold their own in crud.

I mounted mine at -2, so what you want exactly describes what the jeffrey is

My bents are pretty beat up, and I love them to death. Until the core turns to mush or they snap, I will never sell/get rid of them. Caylors will be 100% their replacements when that day comes though

Viciks would be another option. I don't spin out of the park past 3, so flat tails really are an option, although, a Jeffery are another super solid option

Go for a dps wailer 112 rp. Or if you like to charge a little more, wrenegades look awesome. If you do a lot more tree skiing, I'd go with the the Billy goats though. Slap an fks equipped mfd plate on there and your only excuse to use the bents will be hitting bc booters. And 191 bgs look oh so sick...

On any day with more than 6", my Bents are #1 priority. I love smearing around on them. I was thinking Wrens, but how do they hold on shit snow?

FKS, Pivots, or PX14s are my binding choices for sure though.

I have a pair of Viciks that I use for the days when there is no new snow and I just want to bomb around the mountain. They are a fairly aggressive, fun directional ski. However, now that I own a pair of Jeffrey's my Viciks have become neglected.

Salomon el Dictator, Rossi RC 112 (both have a very slight twin to them), Salomon czar, Super 7, AK JJ, Bodacious. All have metal in the, some bust crud better than others. all fucking rail.

Now I am torn between 3.

Vicik: A nice mid sized ski, thats nice and stiff, fits well between my other pairs. Con: The mounting is too far back

Wrenegade: Popular for a reason, stiff, still floaty, and I like the idea of a directional ripper. Damn near ideal. Cons: I may miss jibbing everything that isn't flat when I can, and it almost makes me ski my Bents a lot less.

Jeffery: Jibby, but still semi-stiff. Cons: Maybe not stiff enough, and it may become more of a jib ski, and I will still crave a nice slicer ski.

Input/Experiences?

I would check out the Majesty Ace's. They have a flat tail but are designed for exactly what you are looking for. My code, JW2012, will get you 25% off of them or anything else from majesty.

Vicik - directional, friendly in hardpack to powder. Traditional mount, its not very good near centered.

Wrenegade - A burlier Vicik, just runs over everything that gets in its way. Charge ski, big turns, but stable and confident.

^You arent going to be jibbing on either of these skis, they rather send it big than spin.

Jeffrey - The Jeffrey is plenty stiff underfoot where you need it, it only goes a bit noodly in the rocker so its a little more forgiving in variable snow.


Sorry to toss a fourth option in, but if you asked me, a Billy Goat may be something to consider alongside the Jeffrey...

This years 191's have a recommended mount of -13cm from true measured center. I'd not go that far forward.

I'm 220. The Jeffery is plenty stiff for slaying, and stable as fuck at speed. After I got my Jeffery I picked up another Vicik thinking I needed it. I was wrong. Jeffery has invalidated my entire quiver.
