Baseball players who know anything about bats! BBCOR
So with the highschool season a month away I need to purchase a new bbcor bat. I'm between the Demarini Voodoo and the marucci black. they both have the composite handle, with an aluminum barrel except the marucci is stiffer. I used the voodoo in the summer and loved it but have heard good things about the marucci. anyone have any reviews or anything on it? It would be much appreciated. Other suggestions for BBCOR bats is open as well
its still a metal bat, and balls still come off pretty damn hard. the only thing it changes is that you cant have a pop fly turn into a homerun, you really need to get a hold of it to carry. It still hits line drives hard
shut up. The initial velocity off the bat is only a difference of 10mph max. yes it obviously makes a difference but the majority of the time that split second they have to react will not end up with them blocking it from hitting them. And they make heart guards and everything else too. However I have to demarini voodoo and its dope get it.
I do too, and I don't even play anymore. I used to pitch and got knocked out cold twice from line drive shots straight back at me. maybe it was bad luck, but it was awful all the same.
the poppiest bats of all time were the og reflex, the og redline, and og zcore. then kids started getting killed a lot, and overprotective parents started freaking out.
If you want flexible I would say one of the Easton's and I have heard good things about the rip it prototype.. Also on the other hand there isn't much of a difference between wood bat and the bbcor so I would say of your good with woods stick to them
I've used both. Out of the two, I was able to get the Voodoo around allot quicker, It just had less hand rape when you hit it inside. Honestly for me its a no brainer, Demarini is the one! IMHO Marucci is good too, I just feel like its more awkward and less playable.
In my Sophomore and Junior years I was hitting in the middle of the lineup or in the two-hole with my Dimarini Vodoo and I was a very defensive hitter with a lot of hit and runs, bunts, ect. My senior year I hit in the 3 spot all season and had the chance to use Eastons new bat, but ended up sticking with a Dimarini. It was easier to get around on and I felt like I had some more power with it. So my vote is with Dimarini. I didn't have to use bbcore though.
