So I see a lot of the same stuff these days. it seems like everyone and their mom has a t2i and is making videos and as a result there is a ton of repetition and overall shitty edits. It is not lack of information on how to be better at what you do, but rather not enough new ideas moving around amongst filmers. And to push it even farther it seems like it is often the professional people who DO have the knowledge and equipment to push the envelope that conform to the norms of the industry, with many obvious exceptions.
In this thread talk about what we have done in recent edits that has set them apart from other edits in similar disciplines of riding and filming. Talk about video parts or edits that you have found really interesting or that successfully break through a faux pas.
Example:
I really like the way the filmer incorporates movement and cuts in this video to create a substantially more dynamic video while maintaining a a grungy look by undersaturating and underexposing the majority of the shots. I would love to see someone create a similar feel in a big mountain video as it is something that I have never seen. What do you think?
Post more videos and more ideas of things that you have seen that you liked, or ideas that you would like to see used in the future.
