So im due for a new pair of skis next season, my anthems are getting pretty shot. What I love about the anthems is that they were playful (soft and sick for butters but getting to the point that they chatter at high speed) and wide (compared to other park skis).
I've basically singled it down to line chronics, AR7s, or Atomic Punx. Any ski I get is going to be the 2013 model.
I'm mostly interested in the chronics, is the early rise anything comparable to rocker (I did see theSIA video and the early rise was a much mellow rocker look, im not really sure if its the same as rocker or not). I've never skied a rockered ski and am somewhat intersted.
The AR7s I've just heard alot of good things from as well as the Punx. I heard that the Punx are somewhat comparable to the Anthems but the 2013 shape change looks like its about 10mm less underfoot than my 2009 anthems which are 92. Also the AR7s are stiffer, if I've heard correctly from others but still a great ski.
So my question to you ns is what ski would be best for me, I'm 6'1-6'2 and weigh 200 so obviously im going to get something around 179 or the 180s. I ski park alot, I have a pass to mount snow (try hitting basically every feature except for huge booters and crazy looking rails) but I also love ripping groomers and vermont trees, I'd say that im 50/50 but It matters who I ski with (some days I'll be in the park all day and others its a mix of both). What ski would I enjoy the most if I love my anthems but am willing to try something different that will satisfy my needs.
