Comcast internet pricing

I'm turning to you NS for past experiences w internet services.

I pay for internet only now. I don't want TV. TV blows. So I don't want some package deal which gives you the huge discount. I used to pay $47/mo for 12-15mbps internet. Now that my 6month discount is up and they raised their prices at the new year, I now pay $70/mo for internet only. This is through Comcast.

CenturyLink is the only other provider in my area (city). And they only offer 7mbps for $35/mo. But after reading reviews, their service blows and people only get 1-1.5 for speeds and even lower during high traffic times. These reviews are from people who live right in my area. Also I've heard their routing to servers absolutely fucks your ping.

I do a little bit of gaming so lowering to 6mbps max is not an option. Even if I lowered to that speed I would still pay $50-55/mo. Also, when they say 6 its more like 2. Right now I get a steady 10+.

Can you cancel your service and sign up again to get the discount? I've already called multiple times threatening to change service, etc w/ no luck.
