Replying to Ski's help
Hey guys, this is probably one of the first of many threads i'll be making over the next (probably like) 9 months(ish). I been to excited to move back to BC and ski again, after living over seas for 7 years. I used to be HUGGEEEE into skiing when I was growing up, started when I was 1 1/2ish and skied pretty much every single weekend un till i was 12(grew up in Nelson BC, sick mountain I remember skiing my first double black diamond when i was like 10 and all that crap). I have been a huge ski fan, keeping up with all the movies, skiers, x-games you name it and its been tough especially since I cant even ski a single day a year, if I'm lucky I ski a single day every 2 years. Anyways long story short moving to Squamish next year so I will have a pass to Whistler.
So I probably wont be the most advanced skier when I first come back but I often learn VERY quickly. Anyways what I'm asking is what kind of ski should I start out with. I like powder and I like the backcountry and will be doing lots of that most likely but I also want to be able to do groomers and jumps which made me think that I should get 2 pairs of skis, one for powder and backcountry and one for park. Possibly getting a used pair of skis for park (as i will probably fuck them up with bailing heaps) and then getting a nicer new pair of skis for some powder. The thing is I dont want to limit skis to just powder, I'd also like to ski groomers and stuff but I wouldn't take them on rails or in the park. What do you guys think about this idea and would you have any tips or anything like that for me?
TLDR; haven't skied in 7 years, deciding on what kind of skis to get when I move to Whistler next year, used pair of park and new powder skis. thoughts on this?
Thanks for any replies I know its a lot to read and its probably not that interesting but any response will help. Thanks guys :)
