An All Mountain Twin For the East?

Hey all,

I've been out for a few years from skiing -- and I have a pair of beaten up 1080s (171cm) that I've been using to get my legs back this season, but I'm thinking I'm going to need to upgrade my gear.

I live in the east (Blue, MSLM, and some smaller places, also Whiteface), and like to hit glades and groomers about as much as the park, so I was thinking an all-mountain twin would be best, maybe a bit on the softer side. I'm 5"11", and 150lbs, 171s feel a little short, and I've wanted a longer ski at times.

I was thinking that the main contenders would be something like the Line Chronic 183, the Armada AR7 181, or 4frnt MSP 181.

Any thoughts/personal experiences with this years skis? How about pure park skis? Anything I may have missed?

The skis you posted are solid, as always.

Try looking at the Armada Halos or the Bluehouse Antics.

I have a pair of Antics and I love them, although they are pretty stiff. They're nice and cheap too especially for the quality you get.

if you want a real sick east coast ski that actually does well in the trees/powder and is not too fat for groomers n park I would say look no furhter than the sfb's, the skis you previously mentioned will suck at high speeds and varied terrain, and in pow. stay in the 100 waist range, also look at the kung fujas.

SAlomon twenty twelve do the job for me. THey are good in park, hold up very well on groomers and they float for the little amount of pow that we have. THey are soft and playful.

Do not overlook the K2 Domains! I think could actually be exactly what you're looking for!

Soft. Park oriented. but can still rip up a groomer and the 0 camber lets you bop around!

Awesome, thanks all. I do have to say, I'm not too eager to get on the Salomon's again. While I've been on the 1080s for a while, the I had two pairs delam on me within warranty, so it's not really an option unless they've improved the construction.

By SFB you mean Sir Francis Bacon? Seems like a lot of ski. But I'll think about it some. And I'll see if I can find any deals on K2.

On3p jeronimos..great for park and groomers. Also they will probably do pretty good in pow from the rockered tips and width

Im riding the walls and they rip groomers and the park, on the stiffer side but an all around great ski. if you can find some cheap get all over them

The ar7 will be fine at speed. I have no experience with the other two.
