How to clear your head from the lip of the kicker on a backflip.

Im ready to try a backflip but my only worry is hitting my head on the lip. any advice also how big does the jump need to be.

no less than 15 feet with lots of kick, remember to pop first and then rotate dont chuck your head backwards halfway up the lip

hit my head on the lip a couple of weekend ago. just pay attention to where u are on the jump u will be fine

this happened to me on my first backflip... Just remember to pop THEN flip.

yup pop then flip. pop is also essential for controlling your rotation.. if ur chucking so hard that you can hit the lip then your body is just going to fling off the jump out of control

i did it off a like 10 to 15 footer, just start you rotation when you take off and theres no way you will hit your head,the jump is sending you forward.  and bring those hips and knees up to your chest and your golden!

if you think youre going to hit your head youre probably not ready to do a flip. patience on the jump and pop are key

If you're really a dick, then yeah, you'll knock the lip, I mean, I don't get how ppl manage to knock the lip :p
Okay, but just incase, for not hitting the lip, think to pop, litteraly wait until your skis are half way oof the kicker then pop pushing your head as if you ganna break your neck, bring you knees (knees actually come up quite automatically) spot the landing, open and smile :)

Just make sure you pop instead of hucking it super hard backwards. I remember a few years ago there was an airbag and they had to close it for a bit because someone cut a perfect hole through the jump with their head

pop. it's been said before and i'll say it again, its important to pop through your whole body, not just lifting your head or some shit. as you pop, lean your upper body back, search around with your head, and pull your knees to chest. when you see the landing, extend and stomp.

it's actually a much easier trick than you think; be patient so you don't over rotate.
