THREAD TOTALLY NEEDED.

Flew out to Colorado last saturday, last day I'm here loveland gets 8 inches or something, did laps through the tress on a lot of untouched snow all day. Maybe you saw me? I was on rented JJs, gray coat, gray helmet, black pants, trying to use edges and falling in deep snow while trying to pretend I was as good as Pollard. Video from the go pro on my brother's head to possibly come soon (in the videos section). But holy shit pow in trees is fun. And now I get to go back to jersey to ski park...

Dropped my first real cliff too, it was only like 10 feet max into powder but it was fun. No video of that though.

I was gunna go to Colorado this February with my dad an brother for the first time but I tore the meniscus in my knee and now I can't go :( I have yet to ski real powder. Fuck the ice coast.

Just like someone else said, I've only skied pow a couple times, and it was east coast pow to make it worse.

Although, at this point in our winter, I wouldn't care what type of snow we got. As long as it's white and fluffy and I can slide down it on my skis I would be happy. We've just been getting rain here all year. It sucks.

We got about 7 inches of snow a couple weeks ago (most snow so far this year, and it's all melted now anyways) but literally I would be skiing down a trail at my home mountain, and if I saw an opening into the woods I just threw myself off the trail and skied through thick, thick trees. My bases were hitting rocks and one ski got caught on a rock and flung me off my skis into a tree. Which sucked but, I honestly did'nt even care though because that right there, was probably the most fun I've ever had skiing. I loved every second of it. I didn't want it to end and I stayed until my mountain closed... At night. I was skiing through thick trees, holding an LED flashlight with my mouth skiing on about 7 inches of snow. It was dumb, but literally I wouldn't trade that moment for anything else in the world.
It was "I ski for Sarah day" too, so I skied my damn hardest for her. I will every day from now on too.

Haha I know exactly how you feel. The first time I skied (well, I was on a snowboard) pow, it was fucking epic. You never want to ski anything else again.

That's pretty awesome man. The first time you hit real pow it puts the bug in ya and your always trying to recapture that feeling. The first time I hit decent pow was The first season I worked at Killy. All the guys I worked with knew I never had. The first real dump we got that season was about 20" one night. We were almost done our night shift when the foreman called me into the office. He asked if I had my skis and I did because I usually skied right after work. We jumped on a snowmobile and he dropped me off at the top. It was about 30 mins before the lifts opened. It was just me and nearly 2 feet of untracked fluffy pow. Pretty rare for the east coast as its mostly wet cement. That shit was epic and I'll never forget it. Put the bug in me for sure. Park is fun and ya ski on what ya got but I go outta my way for pow. It's like floating on a cloud in a dream. Haha. Anyway that's nice you had a good day man. Vibes.

I too skied western powder for the first time in my life yesterday. I went to vail on thrus, the back bowls were really really rutted up, with a crust on top of 10 inches. So it made for a very challenging day.
Yesterday I went to beaver creek, and had the best day of skiing in my entire life. Beaver creeks website only says they got 5 inches,. That couldnt be furthur from the truth. I skied knee and chest deep untracked powder all day long. It was the most amazing day I have ever had skiing.
