I just recently switched over from snowboarding to skiing and I'm so stoked to get out riding. Does anyone have any tips for me or any ideas for what kind of gear to get. Thanks
You have to be more specific, as far as skis go there are a hundred rail skis, so price piont and what other stuff you will be doing come into play, bindings more metal=more durability=more mony. Boots its all about getting fitted by a shop, outerwear its whaatever you prefer, skiing tips: searchbar how to ski rails or whatever you are looking to do, there are some good vids on youtube that helped me out with little things, mesage me with specifics
It's his first year skiing. His price range for a full setup is $1000-$1500. He wants beginner skis and beginner boots. I suggested him the Line Masterminds and the SPK's , Drop Kicks, or Booters. He is probably gonna be trying shit in the park after he gets used to skiing, and is possibly going to COC. Sounds about right Chad?
As far as boots, DO NOT GO BY BRAND/WHAT IS POPULAR. Go to a proper boot fitter, and get what fits the best. It might not be the coolest looking thing, but trust me, you'll be happy you did. As far as skis go, there's such a wide variety of skis out there, do you want soft or stiff skis? Are you going to be doing almost all park or are you going to be cruising around the rest of the mountain? All factors.
Gear aside, learn to actually ski before you go and hit the park. It will make you a better park skier and you won't be raged upon for not being able to make a turn.
