I just got a t3i. I'm looking to get a glidecam for it and I'm looking at the hd1000. I only have the kit lens and I think the 1000 would be fine for now. But If I upgrade lenses in the future would it be to heavy? I cant really afford the 2000
I dont really know much about lenses like which one I would get that would be used on the glidecam or how much they weigh or anything so any info is much appreciated.
the 1000 is fine with just the body and lens. it's when you start adding more things to your setup- mic, battery grip, etc that the extra weight capacity of the 2000 is needed.
well I definately wont be getting a battery grip because I can just change out the batteries, and I want to keep it light anyway so the only thing I would upgrade would be like a better lens. But that would still leave me with only a body and a lens on there. Just wondering if other lenses are alot heavier than the kit lens.
i think the 1000 would actually be good for a heavier lens as well. i think i've heard people say theyve even used the 11-16 on them. OP, you can always just go add up all the weights of everything you want to use on it, and if it's under the max weight rated for the glidecam, you're good to go.
