Alright so I broke my ski the other day and need some new ones. My local shop is going to hook me up with a good deal on some 2012 skis. My choices are 176 Armada Halo, 182 Armada AR7, 176 Salomon Suspect, and 177 Nordica Dead money. I am 5'11, I ride lots of rails, and my mountain just built some big jumps so I will be hitting those on the new skis. My old skis were 177 Volkl Walls and I really liked those. I am interested in the Halo, but I have read that they ride really short, so go up a size... he only has 176 and I am not sure if this will be to small for me? even though I really like 177. If he had the 176 AR7 I would grab them, but he only has the 182... is this going to be to long for me? again, i really liked 177. The 176 Salomon Suspect was looking pretty ill, but I have read bad reports on the durability of the suspect, and they felt really heavy. The 177 Nordica Dead money was looking pretty nice, but I have never really heard anything about Nordica skis. So yeah, if you were in my boat, what would you get? plus K for all helpful input... thanks doods
Honestly I don't think the AR7s are going to be too big for you unless you know you don't like a longer ski, I ride 182s and I'm a little shorter than you but I like some length to my skis. I've had a chance to see the dead money but not ski them, personally I thought they seemed like a super sick ski, really liked the flex in them
The ar7 is a 181 and they are so freaking awesome. Im currently riding a pair from this year and they kill it everywhere on the mountain. LOVE this ski!
None of those skis sound good compared to the walls. Armada is sick but so heavy compared to your walls and suspects will just break. Honestly I wouldn't go with any of them and besides they don't even have your right sizes.
depends on how you broke them and if you bought them at a shop or on here, but last year i had a pair of 2010 volkl walls that i had really liked, snapped them and i brought them to a shop cuz of warranty, and volkl sent me a pair of the next years ledges. so i mean i got the ski that wasnt as nice but it was newer. so if it it is an option i would try to warranty
