Do you like DROID or IPHONE more and why?

i just told you that lg makes the lcd screens for iphone. i just showed you an lg droid phone with an lcd screen, but with higher resolution, over an inch larger and similar pixel density.

Sorry if this has been said, I kind of skimmed over the whole thread quickly.
I have used both, but I haven't actually owned both.
First off I think the iPhones are overpriced for what they give you and what you can do with them.
I think droids are a better deal for your money.
Although, for how easy an iPhone is to use, and how nice the touchscreens are and everything, I still might by one. I know droids touchscreens are pretty much the same now, but the phones themselves also seem kind of slow. The iPhone seems like the user interface is a little easier too.
What do I know though? haha just stating my opinion on them.

the problem woth comparing the operating systems is that people are buying different phones. if you buy a shitty 100 dollar android, of course its going to run sorse than an iphone. apple controls their hardware and software so they can eliminate a lot of factors. but in my opinion a top of the line phone running android will blow the iphone out of the water

The deal sealer on the iPhone for me is the intuitive screen. No other device out there is even close when it comes to touch screens. Also it is fast as I need it to be, sturdier than you'd assume, and dont forget it's

When people say "I have a droid" Do you mean a Motorola droid? (A terrible slider phone)

Or do you mean "I have an android phone", as in a phone that runs the Android OS? (Some are great, some suck balls.)


I am honestly confused. I hate Verizon for convincing people android phones are all called droids.

Droids are solid, Iphones are not more reliable by the way (have had three now and the reason I switched to Droids is because the Iphones kept breaking and because I can do a lot more on my droid). But the iPhone 4 is also very solid; personally, I still prefer Droids because they have flash, which is surprisingly helpful, and because you can just overall do way more on them, like I have an app where I can download free music whenever I feel like it and then I can go on the internet the same way I can go on the internet on my computer (a lot slower mind you but nevertheless good). All in all, both are quite similar and the iPhone is still a little easier to use.

I have a droid X that is as fast as the iphone 4s because I like rootin' n romin'. I love customizing my phone and there is literally nothing stock about mine.

I have the iphone 4. It always works, has good battery life, and never really slows down. I don't care about jailbreaking or doing crazy shit with my phone. I can do pretty much everything I want and more on it. No complaints here, my only gripe with it is I wish it showed the time you received each individual text message.

This. Android is an operating system. Droids are phones made by motorola that run android in coordination with Lucas Films, the makers of star wars.

False. Jailbreaking an Iphone slows it down in almost all cases, even when you delete langpacks and launch daemons, while rooting an android can allow you to run different ROMs and ultimately make the device run faster, and even overclock the processor. I have an iPhone, and personally I cannot wait until I buy an android in a few months.

I like my iPhone because it is easy to use and it's nice having my iPod and phone be combined, plus there are certain feature Apple offers that I like (and I have AT&T). Also it has facetime, as does the rest of my family, so we can facetime each other.

I don't like droids. My boyfriend has one and I can not for the life of me figure out to use it at all. I can't find the camera or anything. I also dislike the touch screen technology of the droid.

Not really. PC is a computer running Windows. Is that what it actually means, no, but that's how it is.

Droid is a phone model.


It's like saying Mac vs. HP Pavilion.


I am really just curious if people who have a "droid" actually have a droid, or some other phone running Android.

Droid is nice cuz it runs flash so like watching videos like you normally would on your pc is easy for example souparkstudios.com. the iphone cant do this since it does not run flash. Flash also allows droid to play alot of games the iphone cant. With that said the 2nd advantage in my mind the droid have over the iphone are bigger screen they are way bigger which can be good or bad i guess i like my big screen. For me i love my android based phone(i have the evo4g) but the one thing i like about the iphone more is that there are a few games i wish i had on my phone but for now their only on iphone as they have not been ported yet but thats my only complaint and the app market on android market is growing everyday

stupidest post in this thread bar none. people saying they have a droid 99% of the time mean their phone runs an android os not that they have a shitty ass motorolla phone with a touch screen and slide out keyboard from 2008.

and comparing droid vs ios to pc vs mac is a very apt comparison even though i will always choose pc and iphone instead of mac and droid

I don't know anything about Liberty. What's the scoop with it? What kernel are you running with that ROM? Oh wait, you can't flash different kernels on the X if I remember correctly. What kind of speed, batt life, etc. are you getting?

I've got an EVO running Fresh currently. Ready for a different setup though, so I'm on the hunt. Might make the jump to CM7.

I ran Liberty on my DX for a while, but had to switch because of a bug that wouldn't let the video camera run if you had Pandora opened that boot cycle.

Now running RubiX. No weird bugs or anything, but I think Liberty ran faster/smoother.

The problem with this comparison is that Android is run on so many different devices that you can't straight up compare an iPhone to a Droid. While some people may have experiences with shitty Droids, I believe Android has come a long way, and the top tier Droids are now able to compete with iPhones. That being said, I'm sure you'd find either phone a good choice.

right now I'm running 605 OTA with liberty 3 2.0 flashed over and I love it. not issues except a couple random reboots but never when I'm actually using it so whatever. battery life is the best I have ever had could get 2 days with moderate use. I ran a quadrant score once with launcher pro and got 1800 some which is double the stock droid x.

never tried CM7 I want to tho.

I don't actually know what exactly is a kernel but if you mean android version/build yeah you can change it buy SBFing or OTA update

no, i'm not referring to android version/build when i refer to a kernel. CM defines it as:

The central component of most operating systems. Its responsibilities include managing the system’s resources (the communication between hardware and software components) and can provide the lowest-level abstraction layer for resources (especially memory, processors, and I/O devices)

basically, different kernels with different roms allow for different performace results. some will give better battery life while others will be faster. for some reason I thought I remember reading that you can't flash those specifically on the X like you can on the EVO. if you've flashed quite a bit on your X and have never come across kernel flashing, then i'd bet that my memory is correct in that you can't get to it in a Moto.

I love my iPhone. I wouldn't get a different phone ever.

Droid OS sucks balls. Too much going on. The removable battery argument sucks. Why would you wanna remove it? If you drop a droid, the back is gonna come off, the battery will fall out. Pieces flying everywhere. If you drop an iPhone, the thing still staying in 1 piece. If you drop it hard enough, worst comes to worst your screen cracks. Plus iPhones are the best looking phones on the market. Nothing can compare.
