Yesterday I expressed my opinion on the way we rate our videos on NS. I was told by moderators that I was a douchebag (in forum) and the almighty Eheath explained to us all that the way he runs this site is the best way. The fact is, WE run this site, this democracy of skiing is an open forum and I will be first to say Eheath is not a prominent figure on this site.
The amount of work it takes to make any edit, whether good or bad takes so much effort and money that anyones finished work should be appreciated. The way things are now, great edits go un-appreciated. If you get top rated with 20 ratings of 10, and one douche rates you a 1, Saotaged and taken from the light that is top rated. All that work down the drain because someone had the power to knock it down with a click of the button.
Resolution: Black out stars 1-4. The lowest rating available would be a modest 5. Again, if someone can run a camera and get it in and out of an editing program, thats worth at least 5 stars of respect. Furthermore, videos can only be affected positively.
And if our community cant handle that, than we should be like facefoose, and have a like system.
