I've never played Pokemon in my life, nor have I ever watched a Lord of the Rings movie/read the books, and I could still easily answer that question. What the hell is wrong with this guy?

I remember watching this episode on tv with my dad and yelling at the screen. To this day my dad jokes about it and always says that frodo is a Pokemon "because Regis said so". He obviously doesnt but it used to piss me off because Pokemon was life man.

You guys all realize that very few people over the age of 30 would know much about Pokemon, right...? Sure, he could've known that Frodo was from LOTR, but honestly, movies aren't everyone's cup of tea... I personally never made it through the first lord of the rings movie.

This episode probably was produced pre lord of the rings movies and therefore if he didnt read the books and doesnt know anything about pokemon then it would make sense for him not to get it.

Ehh... even before the movies came out, Tolkien's books were classics, pretty hard to not associate LOTR with the name Frodo even if you have no idea what LOTRs about. My 2c
