Fixing Raised Bumps on Base

So I skied Keystone yesterday, and acquired some coreshots along with a really weird scratch. The coreshots I know how to p-tex; I'm not worried. I'm more worried about the weird bump scratch.

If you look at the pic, you can see a scratch with a series of bumps above the "e." Those bumps are all raised out from the base. I have no idea how to go about fixing this.

Should I scrape it off til its flat with a razor then p-tex around?

Should I try to melt it and push it back in til it sits flat?

How do I deal with this situation?

the raised bump ca also me a core shot take it to Mountain Sports Outlet or any other shot to get it filled with p-tex

filling it with p-tex wont work because the bumps will still be sticking out from the base; they need to be somehow pushed back in or removed

if your in summit go over to pups glide shop in breck, they can fix anything

Get a belt and stone grind. Of your cheap just try some sand paper to get them out.

I just cut them out and ptex.  Try to save as much as possible obviously.  You'll get good at ptexing if you ski places with a lot of rocks for a while.

The base material has become detached from the core but is still intact, the rock wrinkles the base sometimes.

Grind them down and then wax.. A legit base grind from a shop would be nice but those run $30+ as far as I'm aware

yeah i'm pretty solid at ptexing, creating ptex edges where rails have ripped them out and whatnot. I just havent had experience with the base buckling like this before

Take a scraper or razor blade, or even sandpaper and flatten them out, apply p-tex if necessary - they're somewhat on the line of maybe needing ptex and maybe not from the pic. Make sure and wax the skis when you're done, presto.

pretty much this. and FYI he means metal scraper, and don't be afraid to sharpen this with your file.

get those skis tuned man! Ptex isnt going to hold in a gash that big(the one along the edge) you need a baseweld!!

Might want to add a layer of ptex after you have filed down the bumps, just to be safe.

I would cut the raised area out with a razor knife, ptex as usual.

Although it's unrelated I'd get a base patch on the edge bit.

The rippy-bumpy bit... if you're doing it yourself, I'd knock it flat with a bastard file then see how it looks. You might get away with just some ptex and a light base grind.
