Women's taste in music?

Now let me start off by saying i am not generalizing but just stating an observation i have made.

I Listen to underground rap, a bit of house and elecetro, and am kind of getting into bluegrass and a bit of rock. I absolutley despise most pop. IMO (Its dribble aimed at making money supported by mindless sheep). Now most of my friends that are dudes have good taste in music but i have maybe 2 chic friends who have halfway decent taste in music. Seems to me that all the chics i know go fucking bannanas over stupid fucking hip pop (flo rida, T- pain, etc.) and pop songs. Now i Am willing to bet most pinknames have good taste in music but all the rest when they ask to play their music i wanna kill everyone after like 2 songs of Soulja boy and all the shit they like./Rant

Ummm just kinda depends on who you hang around with.

All my female friends are the Coachella types. My sister loves country though. My sister also still shops at Hollister.

I have guy friends that have horrible taste in music and love really shitty pop music. They kinda hang together.

I undestand that but I would hardly call most pop music. There are the occasional pop songs that come up that are good but most of it is just noises that sound good and play into what the youth thinks they should be. Maybe i am  an elitist but to me music should sound good but also inspire emotion. I will give most pop credit that its fun to dance to when your wasted.

I listen to jazz, reggae, and classic rock. I guess there are some things I like that could be considered pop, yes but I'm into soul more than anything and the "pop" I listen to sure as hell isn't what you consider it to be. I also like electronica and hip hop but only to an extent.

Damn, you have such terrible taste in music, man. I can't believe girls would want to hang out with you when you're listening to that. It's all just a bunch of sounds with some random black guys half speaking, half yelling into a microphone. Real music is supposed to evoke emotion and have soul. You should probably stop listening to that bullshit and listen to real music.


Or, you could realize how stupid what I just wrote was, and realize how stupid YOU sound by trying to call someone out for their music tastes. Nothing is worse than a teenager who thinks they have better taste in music than anyone else because they listen to two rappers that most people don't.

Alright you derps. music is very personal. people who dont have a good taste in music, just dont give a shit. they listen to what they have and thats all they know. lots of those people love music i show them, end up downloading it and listening to it. its not like all these girls really LIKE those rappers, its just all they have (okay, i know some are just deaf). show people your music and maybe theyll like it enough to download it and put it on their ipod.
So why dont you guys give a few of these a listen, write down the artists and download their music next time you sync your ipod.
most of it is chill and laid back.

I expect most of you wont like it, its not rick ross or wutang and thats cool, just dont hate on other peoples music because you like something else.

although a lot of people may like music is simple and catchy, there are plenty of ways of judging the musical density and impressiveness.  kinda like a kendrick lamar song is so much better than any soulja boy song in terms of musical worth (beat, lyrics, voice, message)

I've noticed this too, but then I realized that guys listen to just as shitty music as girls. Just instead of the rihanna, drake, flo rida bullshit it's meaningless rap/rock/[insert genre]. Simple people have a tendency to find the most meaningless music ever from each genre, and overplay the shit out of it.

I know a number of girls that listen to good music. And by good music I mean any music that has some depth, or just sounds really fucking amazing. Music that evokes thought, emotion, etc.
You just need to meet some better girls, and/or introduce the ones you know to the music you like. I feel like girls are less likely to search the internet for music, but I'm not sure if that's true or not. If they're not willing to search for it, they're not gonna find it.
