i have been hitting rails lately and my skis keep getting caught like the back one snags on it and i don't know what to do to fix it there new this year i don't know if i should sharpen the edges or dull them help please !
run your finger down the edges and see if there are any burs sticking up. Thats prolly what is making the ski catch. Same thing happened to me. File them down then dull the edges.
some good and bad advice in this thread. file down your edges to clean them and you can detune a little if you want. don't use a fuckin power tool or wax the rail though
and if your edges are clean, you might just have to work on keeping your bases flat on the rail. doesn't necessarily mean leaning back, more just adjusting your ski's angle on the rail
Power tools fix everything. Power tools are the future of America. If you hate Power tools that means you hate America. If you hate America that makes you a COMMUNIST.
If you have a good relationship with the guy at your local shop, ask him to detune your edges as a labor of love. Tip him if you want. They have the proper equipment there.
Do you by any chance rollerblade a lot?
Whenever I've been hitting a few rails on my fruitboots and I get back to skiing, I'll forget to put my back foot completely flat on the rail.
take a file to the edges, don't go apeshit on them just drag it across the edges softly a couple times, the edges a have a bur on them and it takes nothing to take it off
