Remounting

So a local ski shop unscrewed my bindings off my ski for me so I could send the ski back in an effort to get a new one...However it didnt work and I got the skis back, So my question to all of you is. Can I just screw the binding back on myself or should I pay to have the shop do it? If I can just screw the binding back in myself arent I supposed to put glue in the holes, any kidn specific?

Thanks for the help, and please only answer if you have mounted bindings before and know what youre talking about. Guesses at what would work or not dont really help. Thanks

Also...if I can screw them back on myself, what should be used? Just a regular screw driver....or a power drill...or does it not matter?

definately not a good idea to reuse holes, take them to the shop and get them redrilled a cm forward or back.

i have put bindings back into predrilled holes with no glue before and it worked for a bit, but you never know when you could just rip out and die.

if you screw into your old holes I'd use some glue. but yeah definetly re-drill new holes if at all possible

Hmm so its actually better to have two sets of holes through your ski then to use the same holes again? hmm i was not aware of that

take em to a shop, get them heli-coiled and glued and they will be good as new

you can get your skis drilled up to three times before it starts effecting their performance capabilities and such. just get them filled.

personally I think I would get a screw 2mm bigger in the thread from the shop that took em off and have em put back in same holes with epoxy.
I just put a dab of superglue on when I mounted my old shit myself but I wouldn't do that if I were you b/c superglue is rigid.

I put a pair of Salomon bindings on my older pair of skis because they had the same hole pattern as the previous bindings. I just screwed em in as absolutely hard as I could. Probably not the best idea, but theyve been good and I think I probably used them more than I did my new pair since I got them.
