He attempted to step up against high rank authorities in the ski industry. Now he's baisicly fucked for life. Not going into more details since its classified info not meant to be known publicly anyway.
the only thing I can think of is the fact that he was the first competitor of the day. Judges aren't warmed up and don't want to throw out a banger score if someone else does better then shit gets outta hand. He fucking killed it. Should have at least got top 3
It'd be nice as well to hear a judges evaluation of henrik's run. I can't think of a better slope run off the top of my head. doll0 on the positive mission
Not clean landings, not enough dubs. I think henrik has gotta know this, as it happens every single time he competes. I thought we had gotten over this. Henrik doesn't seem to give a shit, so neither should we.
Definitely. He skied so well!! AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!
Also, did anyone notice the commentor say "Word is, it's summertime down in the land of OZ" at the start?
Err, it's not heresay. It is actually summer in Australia.
Ever since about 3 years ago, judges in major competitions have finally started paying attention to the difficulty of rail tricks, and i think thats why Russ's run wasn't scored well. His rail tricks weren't really that technical compared to the those who were on the podium. I'm not saying they weren't difficult or impressive on an everyday standard, but i agree with the judges(Inb4 Geopper did the same 360 sw up... but Geopper hit the rail not the box).
This is just speculation, but i also think it has to do with his grabs. Judges have been paying much more attention to style (hence Taylor seatons and Duncan adams pipe runs) and, even though Russ' double grabs are difficult, they don't look good. There are plenty of grabs and tricks in the ski industry that are difficult, but we dont do them because they aren't stylish.
I think he's top 3 slopestyle riders in the world. Mixing up doubles, mixing up grabs (right double cork 12 guitar...really?) yet it doesn't translate over to contest podiums. Gah!
lacking switch takeoffs.
i think tom was switch from start to finish except maybe one trick and landed everything clean including his massively deep landing on the last jump.
I wouldn't doubt this in the slightest. There are a couple others I can think of that are probably in the same boat. Certain individuals in the ski industry just need to get the fuck out.
lacked amplitude, he landed around the first painted line while others landed down at the second. probably should've gotten a higher score, but that run wasn't podium worthy compared to the top 3 runs IMO.
Agree the first rail was a little boring but like somebody has already said, the sw up was a pretty nice transfer. I reckon he must've hooked up with Steele Spence's sister
Your wording there really bugs me. The actual act of skiing (and the tricks you do) aren't part of the "industry". The industry is everything around skiing, not the skiing itself. Skiing is a sport, the ski industry is a business. The difficulty of different grabs has nothing to do with any industry.
Sorry about that. Continue with the bitching about judging. I wonder if there's ever been a pro comp where everyone came out happy about the results.
He did a sw dub 9 and hit the boxes, thats why he got scored low. Bobby's jumps were better than tom's, but tom hit the rails and bobby hit the boxes so tom came out on top.
anyway that run was sick. i guess his jumps were a tiny bit fast for my liking but i cant really comment on where he should have placed cause ive only seen a few of the other runs.
but who the fuck does a LIP 270, then hits the boxes instead of rails? makes no fucking sense to me
