Shin Bang

So I get gnarly shin bang if I try a new trick and back slap. It generally only takes one full day of no skiing and icing to recover. But if I want to try new tricks two days in a row I'm screwed. So does anyone have a method of prevention? or any tips about shin bang.

if you can, get new boots. if you cant try getting softer ski socks that cover most of your shin.

Today I started riding and after hitting some jumps I had the worst shin pain in my life. I went inside and took my boots off and noticed my socks were all bunched up inside my boots. I straightened them out and then the pain went away. Never had it happen to me before

it's when you get a friend to give you a pat on the back or a back slap. if done incorrectly it can give you really bad shinbang.if done right you can land triples all day just like wammy tallnuts

don't land/ride backseat and get new boots if possible, i used to have real issues ith it, but since getting new boots and thinking about keeping my shins pushing on the tongue of my boots, i have only gotten it once this year, overshooting and over rotating a backflip slightly.

not really, it was a mistake i searched quickly and got the wrong cult but even on closer inspection there seems to be nothing in the other. my bad. there is a shitton of threads via the searchbar though and if you dislike the searchbar googling "(insert what you wish to search here) newschoolers" works pretty well

Some people say if you put half a beer coozie in between your shin and the boot it tightens up enough to prevent shin bang. Gets too tight and cuts off your circulation if your boots are too small (Or actually fit right).

I had these Nordica boots, and every day I got haggard shin bang. My shins looked like someone stuck a grapefruit on a 2x4. I learned that it was the way the buckles transfered the tension, and the liners packed out funny. I later got some Technica Inferno 120s, with Intuitions, and a WC Booster, and as long as I didn't land brutally backseat, they were fine. 2 Years later, I bought Hot Doggers with 10 flex tongues, and got the same result. I know it's beating a dead horse, but as long as they fitted PROPERLY at a bootfitter, FTs are the most economical way out of bad bang.

I used to have boots that were a full size too big and I got some bad shin bang. Then I got Some boots fitted and the pain has been slowly getting better each time I ski, then I took two weeks off of skiing because I didnt have time too. So I had had two weeks without any shin pain and I jogged About two hundred yards and my shins got really swollen and the shin bang came Back as bad as it ever was. I have heard that shin bang can seriously mess up your shins. Is there anything you can do other than ice them to make them less vulnerable?
