that shit doesn't happen anymore. it sucks. sometimes i'll tell random girls that they're pretty or gorgeous or whatever though for fun. first of all, they almost always smile. second of all, if it's a sincere compliment then why not. chances are you'll never see that person ever again but chances are you also just made their day.

My go-to was messing with girls. They're so used to dudes kissing their ass that the effect of someone giving them shit is pretty hilarious. To pull it off, you have to start with a compliment, then lead into it with a joking rip.

i.e."I really like your hair... *sigh* Real shame about those shoes though"

she will inevitable be all "HEY! What's wrong with these shoes" and then if you're funny enough and quick enough you can always make it hilarious like "Well technically nothing, my grandma loves hers too, they really help her bunions" or something and she will inevitable try to convince you that the shoes are indeed awesome when you couldn't care less about the damn shoes you're just busting balls because flirting is so passe.

I guess I'm trying to say that every guy tries pickup lines, so maybe don't try it like every guy does.
