Armada Alpha 1

I'm thinking about getting the Alpha 1s because I can get a good deal on them from a friend. I would first like some info on them from some people with first hand experience though.

I know they are fairly stiff, but how stiff are they compared to say the line chronic and the volkl wall? Are they still butterable? Do they have a good amount of pop, or is it like riding a 2x4?

Yeah they seem sick id like to hear more about them aswell. Also you might want to consider the halo, if your thinking about buttering etc.

I can get the alphas for dirt cheap. Otherwise I would much rather prefer the halo

Im borrowing my friends alpha 2's for the weekend and although they took a bit to get used too they are some of the dopest ski's ive ever rode.

My friend has last year's model and he was able to butter fine. Just throw all your weight on the tips of your skis.

The  guy that sent the link of his review of the alpha 1. Is that the same ski as this years alpha 1? Cause im thinking about buying them because i can get the 2012 model  for 437.

I just picked up an old pair of the first Alpha 1s because I really wanted to try them, without spending money on a new ski. I really LOVE them! The shape of the ski makes turn initiation amazingly easy. I have never had as much control over my skis when skiing down steep mogul/choppy runs. I have total control over exactly where I want to ski to turn, and how much pressure I want to give.

In the park they are awesome again. The light swing weight makes spins and rail tricks come around much more consistently. They are still plenty stable at speed on jumps, especially forwards. I feel slightly less stable on switch landings, but it is minuscule. Switch takeoffs are much more buttery and effortless with the tip shape too.

I am never going back to regular park skis!!!

They have WAY more pop than any other skis I've tried.
