RIP Sarah Burke

Well, my Twitter wall just blew up with the news.

A part of me is really hoping that it's just false news. But I don't think it is.

I never had a chance to meet her in person, but she was definitely someone that the ski industry will sorely miss and certainly never forget.

SO sad to hear. When someone dies, I feel like its always in the back country. Hearing about someone going in the park is a real eye opener to what we all do on a daily basis. +vibes to the family

Devastating. I never met her, I'm just another skier, but this news is absolutely gutting. Just awful.

I feel so terrible for her family and in particular for Rory Bushfield.

RIP/SIP.

So gutted. Massive vibes to everyone close to her.

RIP. She was a driving force in skiing and was a driving force behind the growth and progression of women's skiing.

In times like these, CR's words, "the joy i get from skiing, that's worth dying for" ring true. At least we can all remember that she died doing the that she, and what all of us on NS love. Skiing is our passion, and the death of Sarah is a terrible day for skiing.

May she rest in peace.

Had the opportunity to meet her up on the glacier years and years ago. Such an inspirational skier for the ladies and gents alike.

This is actually one of the top stories on BBC right now. Pretty amazing, when you consider how small our community is...
