So I know a bunch of us are in college, and I was wondering how many guys are in Frats. I'm in Sigma Nu at Colorado School of Mines

i remember one guy died from enichiation because the frats said that he had to jump off a cliff with a rope tied to him and they would hold onto the rope and pull him back up, and it was blindfolded so he couldn't see anything. but really he was just soppoesed to jump like off a curb and the cliff was on the other side but the kid pussed out and turned around because he didn't wan't to jump off the curb that he thought was a cliff and he acctually jumped off the clif.

frats here are the biggest fucking joke. if ever there was a group of people that actually fits their stereotype to a tee it's the frat boys and sorostitutes of CSU. it's my final semester here and i have yet to meet a single member of the greek community who's got half a shred of intelligence or true social skill. here's what happened at the sigma pi house in fort collins (two blocks from my house):

but frats have fun parties where you can easily date rape girls and not wearing a shirt, no matter how fat and disgusting you are, is still cool. Plus, joining a frat gives you an excuse to drive a jeep TJ with no roof, windows, or doors, other than the usual 'oh, I'm gay'. And hey, poking dead girls with sticks, or your penis, which is still erect after hours of date rape because you illegally obtained Viagra, is really super fun to do.

I totally disagree with what you folks are saying about fraternaties. We had a blast in college and I made some great life long friends, and I didn't pay one cent to be in my house either. My brothers all chipped in and we had a couple of fundraising parties to help me cover the cost of going to college while I was stll there. Yes alot of houses have serious issues but not all of them. We never held it against anybody if they where part of the greek scene or not, we just smoked, drank, fucked and studied alot and who ever wanted to join in you where welcome.

sigma pi CU rushee. The money you pay goes towards the sick parties they throw you. Try only spending 250 CAD on 2 week straight of partying, wouldn't happen. There's the paying for making friends gone. The greek community is tight, you make life-long friends, the only downside is that it's extremely inbred and gossipy.

whatever, if your into frats, thats cool, if not thats cool too. i've met plenty of frat/sorority people that were cool and plenty that were total dicks. but i've also met plenty of non-greek people that are cool and also some that were dicks. im really not into 'em, just cause it seems like a waste of time, and if i really want to, i can always just go to the parties.

Atlanta, forget what I said about ATO at USC earlier, they are actually pretty straight, but they will haze you, I have been hanging out with some of their pledges and it seems like a straight one

I rushed this semester but I suicided and didn't get the bid I wanted, so i am rush in the winter. For those looking to rush, do it, but get to know about the fraternity before you pledge, don't go in blind. Thats why I didn't like our rush, it started the second day and you really didn't get to know anything about them outside of their entertaining rush parties and free beer. I am looking forward to the next rush because I will know who to go for and who to avoid. Also, if you rush, spread out, as straight as it may be don't stay at the same house the entire time, or else you will shoot yourself in the foot like me.

Its amusing personally i would never join a frat but i am good friends with a few poeple who are in one. For the most part frats here completely fit the stereotype, but there are always those that are cool guys dont stereotype groups too quickly until you actually talk to them... then feel free to stereotype them all you want

I guess the Frat I'm in really doesn't fit the Stereotype. Its real fun a relaxed, but we also have highest greek GPA. We are also the smallest frat. I enjoy cause you're surrounded by outgoing guys, as opposed to the average socially inept mines kid.

I can understand if you go to a nerd school like School of Mines, but if you go to a wicked cool school like CU, it's kinda gay to join a frat. The only cool frat guys I met were from Theta Xi and a couple from the others, but overall frat guys at large schools are just aloof meatheads who pop their collars and put roofies in girls drinks. It's way better to just do your own thing and go to frat parties when you know it's going to be a good time.

Frats are a joke...the Phi Taus have been tryin to get me to rush but n e way u look at it...YOU ARE BUYING YOUR FRIENDS! They are a stupid waste of time and actually prevent and hinder your ability to make frineds outside the frat.MAybe they arent all that way but the ones i have been to are!
