mixing it up a bit, what if the 3 insurgents who the marines pissed on were the people who strapped locked the bomb vest onto the innocient iraqi civilian who wanted the us soldiers help?
what would your opinion be then?

yeah but would you feel any differently, if the 3 insurgents the marines were pissing on were the same insurgents making body bombs out of kids and locking a bomb vest to an innocent iraqi father, vaporizing him?

in my humble and merciless opinion, they may as well have been. if they were confirmed taliban fighters, whose sole mission was to kill american troops, then i don't have any sympathy or anything for them. it was pretty stupid to pee on dead people and film it. very idiotic decision but that doesn't represent the actions of anybody but those 4 marines

The Hurt Locker was terrible.
It also took place in Iraq, which is is on the other side of Iran, from Afganistan, both of which are big countries in terms of land mass. Iraq also has a vary different culture than those in Afghanistan. Don't confuse the two.

pissing on a corpse is never a valid thing to do. even if you kill the guy in self defence, if there was absolutely nothing else you could do, once he's dead, its over. why oh why oh why would you carry on, unzip your pants and piss on the corpse. what do you get from it? nothing. the guys dead. your interaction with them is over. they no longer exist. leave it.

way worse shit goes on in war than people pissing on dead bodies. do i think it was morally valid?, absolutely not. do i think their actions are excusable?, yes. being placed in warzone is quite possibly the most abstract/uncertain/stressful thing that a human being could deal with. psychologically, i think military personel can become desensitized to things that may seem morally reprehensible to most american taxpayers. its hard to be shot at/ to shoot at someone with the intent to kill and walk away with same outlook on life and ethics.

in summation: i dont think marines should be pissing on dead taliban, but i can see why they might have done it and i dont really blame them.

(also look up Buzkashi - afghans used to it with dead russian soldiers in the 1980's)

nice point, while were on the subject of karma the first people to promote eugenics were the jews, theres a book that just came out about it. they didnt kill but they castrated the poorest and encouraged the affluent to have more kids. askenashism led to einstein. berlin area historicly full of jewish geniuses
