One of dodges worst drive train is in the Durango. The 2nd gens are even worse. And I am a huge dodge fan boy.

stis and wrxs do better off road. the wrx will beat all of them in off road actually cus the evo and stu have hella stiff spring and the reg wrx is quite as low as sti and evo. the evo is sick though but id rather subaru, and p.s. i have an eclipse so dont say im a subaru fan boy

For a ski car, I would definitely say a truck. Throw your smelly ass wet gear in the bed (no racks/attachments needed). DoT can't keep up with the storm, it's all good you have a truck to brave the inadequately plowed road up to the mountain. If you drive it right a truck is the best ski vehicle.

YES! this is why, as you get older you care more about versitility, cost, and reliablility, and awesome safari vans like this are the shit and heres why:

*Lifted and 4wd, space for big snow tires, or BFG all terrains (the best tire out)

*Room for a shit load of gear/ski box, what ever

*Room for a shit load for friends.

*You can sleep in the van **Comfortably and warm**

*you can pick these up used for cheap as shit and they are reliable, theres a reason company cars/vans arent forced induction petral engines.

VAN ON! IMO!

I watched this thing fly off the road on I-70 on Friday. Runningman was there with me. Lost traction in the rear going 65, fishtailed, and the back end just pulled it off the road into a 15 foot ditch. Surprisingly, it landed on it's wheels. It was just before Silverthorne. Scary, to say the least. I hope all you truck drivers out there are careful, you are not accident proof.

I hear about that, if you don't have your truck in 4wd it is the worst vehicle in the snow, when it is it is pretty great especially with snow tires and you aren't driving like a retard.

I've fit two pairs of twin tips and a snowboard in the trunk/backseat release + equipment (duffle bags,helmets, boots) - so really there insn't a need for a ski rack- unless someone wants to bring their kids- which is out of the question due to the pungent skunklike odor coming from my ski ridden vehicle.

I've never been stuck! Never span out/fishtailed into the ditch. New years eve we had some major sleet/snow, about 3 inches worth in a couple hrs- and there were plenty of trucks/SUV drivers watching me zip by with complete control :-)

Even the old subies are solid (given they have been taken care of)- give them a shot!

i currently have a 06 WRX and its really really good in the snow, but it blows on space. not Star Wars space, but the space inside the car. going skiing with 3 friends? think again. the trunks tiny, even when i have my sounds system out, so jamming everyone into the subaru sucks. ive been looking at trucks and SUV's and finding that they are both probably a lot better for skiing.

Trucks! shitty gas mileage but if you have a wrx your fairly used to it. wrx gets 18mpg SOMETIMES. most likely you drive it like an asshole simply because you can. if youve driven one, you kno what im saying. so trucks get usually 13-17 city and 14-23 mpg on highway. not much worse than a WRX.

trucks have seating for 6 in a lot of them. 6 people sitting moderately comfortable, and no ski gear inside seems to be ideal. all of your ski gear can EASILY fit into the bed of the truck. easily. not only that, you can easily fit floodlights with it, a generator, and even a drop in.

Wheres the downside? some would argue the bed isnt heavy enough and will slide and get stuck. use your head, put down 6 sandbags, maybe less, maybe more. it barely takes up any space, weighs your truck down a bunch for any grip you might need, and you can still easily fit all of your equipment.

SUVs!

same mpg as trucks, even more seating, all thats differant than a truck is that you probably wont comfortably seat 6 people along with lights, generator, and a drop in with all of your equipment as well.

Thats what I drive 08 RR GSR, but I did remove the SSS wing (I think it looks hideous). I will say one thing last season on the stock ADVANS was downright SCARY I do not reccomend anyone trying to drive in snow or ice with the stockers. I put on Nitto Neo Gens for this season and they have been flawless, but we really haven't had too crazy of snow. I did get to drive through some foot+ stuff and never had a problem in snow mode. You can literally try and spin donuts in snow mode and ASC on and it will not let you lose traction it just grips....now ASC off its like a RWD car and over steers like a big dog.
