you read too quickly homeskillet... re-read the post. The LGT is an AWD turbo that gets 20mpg WITH a lead foot. The car gets better gas mileage if you don't drive it like its stolen.
Another plus to a subaru is the windshield and defrost setup. I haven't touched my whip with a scraper through two MN FROZEN winters. Oh yeah, and during the summer i get to laugh at all you nut jobs driving around your big trucks with absolutely nothing in the bed.... sounds like a grocery getter on roids to me... why don't you get an SUV so you can play taxi as well- it's a great money saver. lol
Just sayin'... ya can't beat the subie when it comes to dis shit son!
doesn't the cost of maint. kill you bro?
One of my buddies had a light go out and it ran him about 3hundo to replace... just for a head light. I was looking at the Audi 2.8 Quattro... the car is a beast but they cost an arm and a leg to keep up if something breaks....
holy crap, didn't know I couldn't throw an analogy out there without someone jumping on it like a tramp....
Thanks for the support.
*through... FYI.
for the record, you still aren't getting the point home boy. 20MPG with a lead foot is GREAT gas milage for a car that can dip like subies do. Next time you see a stang, vet, or one of those gooney SUV/Trucks getting 20mpg while dipping out let me know- wait a second- NOT POSSIBLE- without a hybrid version of any of those vehicles you'll never find it- and it's ashame both technology, or the price of those models are not ideal for a low budget skier looking for a reliable and stable vehicle.
The point is this: dude is looking for a nice car to go ski in- he didn't ask for the top rated commuter car. This individual is looking for an all around vehicle that will keep the passenger safe, while still keeping winter season performance in mind. You seem to be bending the conversation toward some odd point that has nothing to do with the initial question/thread.
The bottom line is that Subaru's were made for a country (Japan) that experiences highly variable weather patterns- including MORE than 4 inches of snow. The 5EAT and manual transmissions were made to be extremely durable through all weather conditions. For a compact car rockin' AWD and a turbo, I'll gaurantee you will not find a better bang for your buck. If you run with the stock setup of any of the subaru models, you will not be disappointed. Hope you find the right car for you brotha!
Be safe!
