What kind of sound system do you have in your car?

Fuck getting a system. Just have a mechanic take a look to make sure everything's hooked up right. Lots of times all the speakers in a car are not hooked up, sometimes even up to 9 extra speakers you either didn't know you had or thought they were hooked up

sounds like you're getting one for good reason. i'd really not recommend putting any money into the car. i'd imagine the stock sound system will do you just fine. shit's pretty expensive if you want a half decent setup...

Sometimes I wish I had subs, but then I realize that it's not worth the money and it saves me tons of room. Plus, my stock sound system is pretty good to begin with. I side with this guy- save your money because it's really not worth it.

Ive got 2 12 inch Kicker CVT's, and a ZX800 amp. The system is mounted under my back seat in my 2000 Ford F-150 Ext. Cab. Shit slaps, I love it. I got Pioneer speakers all the way around too, and a Panasonic deck.

jl audio door speakers (6x9 in the rear, 5x7 up front) running off stock power from deck until I can buy a 4 channel amp, 2x 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch subs (600rms each), in a dual ported bassworx box. Wired to a 1200rms insignia amp and jvc deck, no touch screen or any of that fancy shit. they fuckin pounddd
also sorry for actually posting my cars system, guess ill finish by saying sound systems are dumb!

You'll be hard pressed to find a car more reliable than a civic/ corolla imo. good on you.

I just run stock speakers (and tweeters) in my toyota with a nicer headunit for b/tooth etc... wouldn't exactly call myself a car audio 'enthusiast' though...

I have an alpine deck, infinity speakers all run through an amp which came stock in my jeep, and a 12" no name sub with a 600 watt amp that you can get at bestbuy for like 300. I dont like it at all though I had 2 10" Pyle blue waves with a 500 watt amp and that sounded pretty good. Its not really nessicary at all but I love having a system that just pounds and shakes all your mirrors it makes music and driving way more enjoyable.

Whatever came stock in my car, because wasting money on aftermarket car audio is beyond stupid. Just because we can hear your license plate rattling from 6 blocks away does not make you any cooler.

This.  Civics might be "played out" but are still a fantastic means of transportation, easy to work on and cheap to fix.  As long as you don't put a coffee can exhaust on it or stupid rims, etc. nobody will think you're a tool for driving a DX. 

As for systems, I've had little and I've had insane.  I'd err on the side of moderation though if my opinion matters, overkill rarely sounds balanced and it's really just obnoxious.  A decent 10" sub will give you the low bass but not take up a ton of room so I'd roll with that, personally.

idk what year civic your getting i used to drive an 08 civic and honestly, the radio on its highest volume/base setting was unbearingly loud. Way to loud. People who tend to get sound systems in their cars are usually younger kids, or tools. Please do us all road goers a favor and don't get one.

You're probably going to be one of the douchebags that plays his music as loud as possible so everyone can hear it.

I really forget what I have in mine because I got my car handed down to me from my brother. The system at the time was top of the line. I only keep the 2 15s in the back at about half power, though so they're not loud. I just like having quality sound in my car without letting everybody else listen to it.
