Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.

you guys are really confused i think as to why he isn't gonna be surfing or skiing or hitting on chicks while he's there. it isn't like there is some strange and illogical 'rule' for each activity that forbids it like a lot of ignorant sterotypes might lead youto think. the point of the mission is to serve continuously, as in full time, from when you get up to when you go to sleep, by either teaching or charity or anything that is service to your fellow man. a lot of that is spreading the teachings of the church so that more people can know and gain info when interested. so the reason he won't be doing that other stuff is that he will be busy serving all the time, with one day a week where he takes care of stuff like laundry, excercise, correspondence, etc. a missionary's life is devoted to that service for entire two years, and part of that is not doing stuff on your day off that could hinder your ability to serve, like anything with considerable danger. so, even on the day off is devoted to the mission in that you just take care of what you need to live and be in good spirits and then get back to work.
