I been thinking about getting a pair pf crash pants for park but I was wounding if anyone swears by them or think their unnecessary?

I have worn knee pads since I shattered my kneecap a couple years ago but I feel like a pair of crash pants could've saved my ass/hips from a lot of bruises. Probably would be a good incestment.
