Why are Bluehouse Antics so cheap?

thats a good 100 bucks more than any ski ive ever bought....and ya they are awesome skis buy them

i have them and they are awesome. and the reason they're cheap is because they don't sell them in retail shops, so there are about 2 people less that don't need to make money off it, by jacking up the price.

they are cheap because they are made with cheap materials, it has nothing to do with selling in a shop. they are a price point ski, same with all BH

so you're denying the fact that when a company sells to a distributor and then the distributor sells to a shop, the price doesn't go up in-between the shop and the factory? if other companies that sell skis for 500 in stores did this, they would be the only ones who need to make money and that $500 ski would sell for 375 and the company would still make the same profit, if not more.

im not saying they aren't made to be cheap, but factory direct sales have very much to do with it also.

Quite possibly but factories usually charge the same price as most stores given that they will sell their products to a store at a given discount and the store is expected to sell the product at more or less the same price as the factory in order to make a profit off of the product.

but a company that sells skis in a store would never sell them cheaper on their site, because they would screw over all the stores they sell to. but i bet they make a bigger profit margin when you buy off their site then in a store.
but for a company that doesn't sell in stores, none of that matters, because they can sell as cheap as they want.
if armada wasn't sold in stores but only factory direct, their skis would be 2/3 the price they sell for in stores.
