Girls skis for a dude?

My friend is looking for a new pair of skis. Since we almost only do rails and break them really easily, he's looking for a cheap pair. There was a pair of K2 missconduct with 40% off in a shop, which bring us to this question : Would there be any problems if a dude skis on girls skis other than esthetical reasons ? Like are they softer, made cheaper, less tough ?

He's like 5'9 150 lbs.

No way, ive put a ton of groms who rip all mtn on missbehaved since the fujas doesnt come in their size, ignore tge graphic, go for the best ski/price combo that suits you.

i feel like theyd be a lot softer but since ur friend doesnt weigh that much i think hell be fine, especially if theyre for rails and stuff

The only difference is that women's skis tend to be softer and shorter and not designed to be skied as aggressively as their male counterparts (not weak construction or anything, just a bit less of an intense ride). If a dude skis in a way that the most appropriate ski for his ability/style/size/strength is a women's ski, he'll rip harder on that than on a dudes ski he's not right for. Don't be fooled by preconceptions.

they are 169 and they feel longer, so the size is all good. We'll see if he buys them.

K2's are usually a couple cm longer than what they list at, for whatever reason...

it seems as though the k2 girls skis are the same as a model in the guys line. besides size, there probably isnt much of a difference.

most of the time it doesnt matter if theyre guys or girls ive never noticed a difference and ive had both... unless you buy some shit like roxy... theyd snap in two your first run.

I'm so tempted to pick up a pair of these for $115 from EVO (http://www.evo.com/outlet/skis/dynastar-swirly-womens.aspx), mount them with some $65 PX 12 from EVO (http://www.evo.com/outlet/alpine-ski-bindings/dynastar-px-12.aspx), and have a pretty nice new ski / binding setup for $180. Looks like the skis would only need one sticker on the topsheets to cover up the flowers, and they'd be good to go.
