Lately, I have found the need for a telephoto. I have a few I need to decide from. First, the canon 70-200 f4 L. Next, the sigma 70-200 f/2.8 II. Also, the Nikon Nikkor Vintage 80-200 f4 push pull. I wouldn't be using this TO much, but defiantly dont want to cheap out. The reason for wanting the canon is because I have heard great things about it, durable, weather proof, and decent AF. For the sigma, I like how I get an extra few stops of aperture for around the same price, but have heard about some durability/quality control issues. Lastly, really the main reason I am looking into the Nikkor is because it is a cheap alternative. I have not seen much test footy of it, just hear some good things off of NS bout it. Will I have quality issues with shooting through so much glass?
I wouldn't be using these as an every day lens, but need something for shooting landscape, nature, and skiing.
Lastly, does everyone just use generic tripod collars? Or is that something I shouldn't cheap out on?
+K for help!
