does anyone know of any shop or person that could bend my FKS brakes to fit a 112 ski? They are already drilled and everything but the shop i went to wouldn't put the heel piece on for me. I know its a big bend but i just want it to work and not have to buy new bindings.
they're actually making a 115mm brake next year for the pivot series (not sure about FKS, but same thing essentially). But even then, you wouldn't be able to switch them out at a shop legally (but some seem to oversee this obviously). Just go around to a lot of different shops in your area and ask if they'll bend an FKS brake for you, some won't even touch other's will just go for it. I seem to notice the older guys who have been dealing with those brakes since the days of the FKX binding have no problem helping you out. it just all depends on who you ask...
Honestly - if people are hesitant to do it just go in late and talk directly to the guys working the shop....offer to buy them a bottle or 12 pack and that you won't want anything signed/documented so there's no trace of liability.
