I'm looking for a new pair of skis. I ski in Colorado (Breck, Vail, A-Basin, etc.). I'm 6'5" and 150-160 lbs. I love skiing powder and trees (even tight trees) but I also enjoy groomers when the snow isn't great. I am an advanced/aggressive skier and I feel confident and able to ski any terrain.
Basically I'm looking for a ski that I could use on any day any conditions.
i really liked JJ's when i used them at loveland for a few days. I also used icelantic shamans which were fun. the shamans could turn harder and grip better on harder snow (as if you guys have really hard snow)but the JJ's did better in deeper snow, they were faster. The rocker was fun too and honestly didn't really cause an issue on groomers. Skiing a rockered ski like that isn't hard if you know how to ski, especially on the snow you guys have out there.
It's funny you mention the good snow out here. Currently I'm seeing none of it. Haha. I went up to Keystone today and there was nothing fun to ski, even the groomers were crap.
i ride my Line chronics in pretty much all conditions, i know their more for groomers but they do great in powder. i have the original ones with the thinner waist width, so if you go for the wider ones im sure they'll be even better in the pow.
Yeah actually i've had a shred on those before and they are a lot better in the pow than the chronics, they did great in the too, depends if you wanna go more for the park or the pow
