So here's the story:
He went out to scrape the few inches of heavy snow off of our driveway yesterday with the tractor, and got excited about the ice on our pond being ready for skating, and he drove the tractor out on it to clear the snow off like he usually can around this time in the winter. Hell, the ice was even thick enough on the good side of the pond.
However, he got down to the end of the pond that has springs in it, and always has thinner ice, and the tractor dropped right in under a willow tree.
He was fortunate enough to not be wearing his seatbelt, and he jumped off right away and was barely in the water before he climbed out, and he walked back across the ice to our house in shame.
Right after the fact, I went out and took a picture. The headlights were still on under the water, and the hazards will flashing. It was pretty sad.
A crane had to come by today to pull it out of the pond. The Deere is now at the repair shop getting rebuilt, hopefully brought back to life.
